Bangladesh opener Tamim Iqbal restrained himself from fielding in the Nidahas Trophy final against India although he did bat in that match. Having flown from Colombo to Lahore to play in the eliminator match for Peshawar Zalmi, Tamim felt the knee strain once again after appearing in the first eliminator match against Quetta Gladiators and scored 27 runs.
He was out of the playing eleven in the second eliminator match against Karachi Kings which was also won by Peshawar Zalmi.
Now the flamboyant opener has gone to Bangkok for treating the troubled knee.
According to reports of Pakistan media, Tamim would probably join his franchise for the final of the league; Bangladesh Cricket Board is yet to confirm anything in this regard.
Tamim joined with Peshawar Zalmi in the beginning of the season from where he returned to play for the national team after five matches.
So far, Tamim scored 161 runs in an average of 32.20 playing in his six PSL appearances this year.
Peshawar Zalmi will lock horns with Islamabad United in the final of the Pakistan Super League 2018 on 25th of March.
