Aussie all-rounder Shane Watson’s 90-run innings with the bat and 1 wicket with the vall guided his side Quetta Gladiators to win over Karachi Kings in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL). He was awarded the man of the match award for his all-round performance.
Having been asked to bat first, half-centuries from Shane Watson and Kevin Pietersen helped their team set Kings a target of 181. Watson smashed five fours and seven sixes in during his blistering knock. Pietersen hit seven fours and a maximum in his 52 run knock.
In reply, disciplined bowling helped restrict the Kings for 113/8 to clinch a 67-run victory. Kings suffered early setbacks as they lost both their openers inside the first two overs with only two runs on the board. Things didn’t improve much from thereon as they kept losing wickets at regular interval to be reduced to 55/5.
“It was important to stay out there. A few mis-hits went in the gap. The ones that I hit went in the gap. There were a few dropped catches, so you’ve got to capitalize on those opportunities. I love to be a part of the team, and I’m enjoying my cricket right now,” said Watson after the match.
