The spectacular batting display from Mushfiqur Rahim standing upon the solid base constructed by Litton Das and Tamim Iqbal, ended in a more entertaining note with a ‘Nagin Dance’ denoting the famous ‘snake dance’ of rural Bangladesh.
In the post-match press briefing where Tamim represented team Bangladesh affront the media, let out how they enjoyed the celebration.
“You might know this is unique celebration style of our pacer Nazmul Islam Apu. He always does so whenever he grab a wicket. This is the funny snake dance that Mushfiqur showed in the field. We enjoyed it a lot,” Tamim said.
The father of a 35 days son, Mushfiqur celebrated the victory with a sparkling 35 ball unbeaten 72 after arriving at the crease to get 115 runs in 63 deliveries for the team.
Making prudent displays of calculated risk all along the innings, Mushfiqur flicked big shots in first four deliveries of an over and then took singles or doubles in the latter two to keep the strikes.
England is in the third position – the opposition was once again South Africa. In 2016, England eclipsed South Africa’s 230 runs having 2 wickets in hand.
And then it came to Bangladesh, for the 5 wicket victory against Sri Lanka chasing down 214 runs.
