The eleventh season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has started on Saturday, with defending champions Mumbai Indians taking on the returning franchise Chennai Super Kings. Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman made his debut for his new IPL team Mumbai Indians in this game. But the debut was not sweet for the 21-year old bowler as Chennai Super Kings clinched a trilling one-wicket victory.
The cutter master also could not do well in his first game for the three-time champion and disappointed with his performance. He conceded 39 runs in 3.5 overs with just the wicket of Ravindra Jadeja.
Earlier, Having been asked to bat first at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, the home side posted a challenging 165 runs target in the scoreboard in 20 overs losing four wickets. Ishan Kishan, the young wicket-keeper batsman was the top scorer for Mumbai scoring 43 off 29 balls.
Mustafizur, who was asked to ball the last over, yielded no runs in first three deliveries but unfortunately could not hold the nerve till the end.
