Murali keeps faith on Shakib-Rashid

With only one day to go before the start of the eleventh season of the Indian Premire League (IPL), Sunrisers Hyderabad bowling coach Muttaiah Muralitharan claims that his side has a formidable spin attack with the presence of Bangladesh off spinner Shakib Al Hasan and young Afghanistan leggy Rashid Khan.

The Sri Lanka bowling legend has termed Shakib Al Hasan as consistent bowler and acknowledged that Shakib is capable of doing good during the vital moments of the match such as death overs and power-play.

“If we want to win championship we need spinners as they are vital in the team. Shakib Al Hasan is a very consistent bowler. He has been part of so many T20 World Cup tournaments for Bangladesh and also he was a member of the Kolkata Knight Riders. He can bowl in ‘death’ and power-play,” he told the reporters.

Speaking about leg spinner Rashid Khan who has been very impressive with the ball in recent years, Muralitharan says the sensational leggy is a formidable wicket-taker. “Last year we used him only in powerplay. Since we have Shakib this year, Rashid can bowl in middle overs and take wickets,” he added.
