Bangladesh starts India tour with defeat

Bangladesh cricket team is currently in India to play a three-match T20 series against host Afghanistan. Ahead of the series, Tigers faced Afghanistan A team in a practice match, on Friday. The Shakib Al Hasan led side didn’t have a great start to the series as they lost match miserably by 8 wickets.

 

Batting first, Bangladesh could not post a challenging total in the scoreboard as they managed tos score 145 after 20 overs. Mosaddek Hossain was the top scorer in Bangladesh’s batting innings, scoring an unbeaten 38. Apart from him, Mushfiqur Rahim and Shakib Al Hasan scored 27 and 19 respectively.

In reply, Afghanistan chased down the target very comfortably depending on Hazratullah Zazai and Mohammad Nabi’s fearless batting. Hazratullah scored an unbeaten 69 while Mohammad Nabi remained unbeaten on 32.

Afghanistan ‘A’: 146-2 in 17.2 overs (Hazratullah Zazai 69*, Mohammad Nabi 32*)

Result: Afghanistan A won by 8 wickets.
