The tall Indian fast bowler Ishant Sharma is in England representing Sussex in the county side. He went to play in county season after being unsold in the IPL auction. This county season helps him a lot to prepare for the England tour.
Ishant Sharma will be back to home to play the historic test against Afghanistan which is to be played from June 14 in Bangalore. But he injured himself again with less than two weeks to go for Afghanistan test. The Indian pacer hurt himself for the second time in this county season.
Previously, he injured his shoulder during the game against Gloucestershire when he was fielding in the deep. His shoulder injury kept him out of the next game against Middlesex. Now, he has been replaced by Ollie Robinson in the game against Essex.
So far, Ishant Sharma has played four first-class games and scalped 15 wickets at an average of 23. His best bowling figure of 4 for 52 came against Kent. Along with first-class matches, he also played the List A games in the Royal London One-Day Cup. Ishant bagged 8 wickets in 6 games that he played at an economy of just 4.81.
Ishant will have to undergo a fitness test ahead of the game against Afghanistan. In case the injury takes longer to recover, he might miss the tour of England as well. The Indian team really needs experienced Ishant Sharma’s service to win the first ever test series in England.
