Watch Mushfiq hits 5 fours in 5 consecutive balls

Afghanistan have created history as they whitewashed a strong Bangladesh side in a three match T20 series on Thursday.

Opting to bat at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Dehradun, Afghanistan posted 146 in the scoreboard after 20 overs, losing 6 wickets. They had a good start as Mohammad Shahzad and Usman Ghani posted 55 runs in the opening partnership befoe Shahzad fell for 26 and Osman for 19 in the 8th and 9th over of the match respectively. Afterwards Asghar Stanikzai and Samiullah Shenwari added 46 runs in the second wicket partnership. Stanikzai scored a quick 27 off 17 balls, hitting three sixes while Samiullah remained unbeaten on 33.

Pacer Abu Jayed Chowdhury and spinner Nazmul Islam grabbed two wickets each for Bangladesh while Shakib and Ariful picked up one wicket each.

Chasing the target, Bangladesh lost both of their openers Tamim Iqbal and Litton Das within 6 overs. One down batsman

Soumya Sarkar also went back to the pavilion early after getting run out ironically. Earlier, Litton Das also got run out in the same fashion in same over. Shakib Al Hasan also could not saty on the middle for a long time as he was picked by Karim Janat in the ninth over of the match.

Mushfiqur and Mahmudullah took control from that point, tackling Rashid, Mujeeb and Nabi sensibly and laying into the other bowlers.With four runs needed off the last ball, Ariful Haque swung Rashid Khan towards long-on but Shafiqullah stopped the ball unbelievably to confirm victory for the Afghans.
