11 more Lankan players added for second phase training in Kandy

Mickey Arthur & his company has invited two more support staff to train 24 players in Kandy for 10 days from June 22 to July 2.

“We have retained all the 13 players which took the Residential Training in Colombo earlier this month and have now added 11 more players, few of them the pure batsmen, to take the total tally of 24 players,”

The 11-new players invited for the second phase training are: Dhananjaya de Silva, Niroshan Dickwella, Avishka Fernando, Kusal Mendis, Angelo Mathews, Dinesh Chandimal, Thisara Perera, Lahiru Thirimanne, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Oshada Fernando and Dilruwan Perera.

According to the highly placed sources in SLC, Manoj Abeywikrama and Rohan Priyadarshana have been added as fielding coach and massage therapist respectively.

The other four support staff members- Mickey Arthur (Head Coach), Grant Flower (Batting coach), Dilshan Fonseka (Trainer) and Ajantha Wattegama (Physio).

Team’s regular fielding coach Shane McDermott and bowling coach David Saker are yet to arrive from Australia. Once they come, they will undergo quarantine.
