Ashraful to play for Dhaka Metro in NCL

One of the most popular cricketers of Bangladesh, former captain Mohammad Ashraful has made one good stroke towards returning in cricket after a long interval. It is known through confirmed sources that Ashraful has been enrolled in Dhaka Metro in the forthcoming National Cricket League. [Read in Bangla; জাতীয় লিগে দল পেলেন আশরাফুল]


The 2016 – 2017 season’s NCL is scheduled to start from 25th of September. Ashraful informed the news to one of the online media saying, “My fight for survival will begin with National Cricket League. Hope I will be able to perform well in that. I am looking forward to play in NCL now. I want to return everything to my fans. I wish everyone will keep me in their prayers.”

The three year suspension period of Mohammad Ashraful has come to an end on 26th of August, 2016. But he has to wait another two years to play in international cricket.

Like the previous one, NCL of this season will also take place in two tiers. Four teams will play in the first tier – these are Dhaka Metro, Dhaka Division, Barisal Division and Khulna Division. The second tier teams are Rajshahi Division, Rangpur Division, Chittagong Division and Sylhet Division. 1 of 1
