For staying involved in unexpected and unethical incident of street brawl English vice captain Ben Stokes and batsman Alex Hales had been banned indefinitely. This Thursday the regulatory organization of England Cricket Board gave this decision. Stokes and Hales had been in the topic of news for last few days for street brawl.
Though the accusation of fighting on streets was brought against Stokes, ECB has always been sympathetic for him, his team mates and former cricketers. But after Stokes being arrested, a video footage was published on The Daily Sun, a popular English news daily where it was clearly seen that he was punching unethically accompanied by Hales. After this footage being viral, ECB took this decision of banning them indefinitely.
Bristol Police arrested them before the Wednesday’s match against West Indies. Right them Hales was also taken under police custody. Though it was informed from police that they were taken for helping police investigate the case, both the cricketers missed the third one day of five matches series against West Indies.
In the footage it was seen that Stokes threw fifteen punches in a minute to a man when another one shouted, “Oi, Stokes, enough, enough.”
Ashes series is knocking at the door. In this important series Stokes and Hales were supposed to be one of the knights of the team. They were in the squad. But they made their future questioned by this unethical incident.
It’s clear on the statement that they are not returning back until legal problems resolve. This Thursday in a press note they stated it clearly that they will not be considered in England Cricket Team until next announcement.
