The England Cricket Board (ECB) on Monday, have announced their squads for the solitary T20 International and the five- match One Day International series against Windies.
All-rounder Moeen Ali, Ben Stokes and Chris Woakes have been rested for the solitary T20 fixture, due to be held in Durham on Saturday 16 September. They will be replaced by seamer Chris Jordan, batsman Dawid Malan and left-arm spinner Liam Dawson respectively.
Meanwhile, Test captain Joe Root surprisingly has been named to play in both Twenty20 and the 50-over games even though the short-form represents his only chance for a rest in a schedule that is bursting at the seams.
However, the 20-year-old Hampshire leg-spinner Mason Crane who impressed in limited- overs games against South Africa earlier in the summer, has surprisingly been omitted from both squads.
To be noted, the five-match ODI series is scheduled to start on 19 September.
