Lipu wants three pacers to play and Soumya out of XI

Soumya optimistic about his 'first Australia series'How the playing eleven should be made in the unknown field condition- is a matter of speculation now. But it is clear that fast bowlers will do well in this seaming condition. [বাংলায় পড়ুনঃ সৌম্যকে বাইরে রেখে বাড়তি পেসার খেলানোর পক্ষে লিপু]

Generally Bangladesh’s bowling is led by spinners, but this time Shakib Al Hasan, the best spinner of the team is not there to play against SA due to rest.

For these reasons it is still unclear about the combination of the team. Former captain of Bangladesh national cricket team Gazi Ashraf Lipu thinks that a team consisting three fast bowlers would be better.

Recently in a column published in popular news portal he said, “If Taijul is taken instead of Shakib then the batting department will be weaker. Again if another batsman is taken instead of him, the variation of spin will be lessened. In this situation team management will have to be very careful to select XI for the first match.”

Lipu thinks that Bangladesh should play with one spinner and three fast bowlers.

He added, “It is tough to say anything staying in Dhaka without observing the pitch. But considering all the conditions it can be said that after selecting three fast bowlers, one spinner and six batsmen, another player would be Taijul or any other batsman- is going to be the matter of thinking of the selectors.”

And in this department of pace attack Lipu prefers Mustafizur Rahman, Taskin Ahmed and Subashis Roy. He wants Soumya Sarkar to be out of the playing XI.

He said, “I personally will prefer Mustafiz, Taskin and Subashis. Mehedi Hasan Miraz and Taijul will be for the spin attack. And I would be happy to see Mominul, Mahmudullah and Sabbir in 3, 4 and 6th position instead of Litton Das and slightly injured Soumya.”

Though Bangladesh is in a discomfort for Shakib as he is not staying in the series, Lipu reminds that some other regular players are also not going to be there.

He added, “We don’t have Shakib in team. But there are other five regular bowlers and batsmen are not there in SA series, we have to keep this in mind. New players instead of regular players might be the reason of our headache.”
