Bangladesh dangerous in ODIs: du Plessis

South Africa captain Faf du Plessis rates Bangladesh a ‘dangerous’ side in ODI cricket at either home or away. He expects a tougher challenge in the three-match ODI series starting from Sunday in Kimberley.

Bangladesh have had only four ODI successes away from home this year. They made their way to semi-finals in the 2017 Champions Trophy in England and Wales. The Proteas skipper is not taking the Tigers lightly.

“I think Bangladesh have proven in white-ball cricket that they can perform outside of their own country, just as recently as the Champions Trophy where they have made the semi-finals,” he told the reporters ahead of the first ODI.

“Their record in Test cricket away from home is completely different, but in white-ball cricket they have shown that they are a very dangerous side when it comes to one-day cricket. So, for us, obviously the Test match victory was nice and we dominated them, but we are expecting a completely different challenge in the one-dayers,” he added.
