Bowlers deeply hurt at Mushfiqur’s comments

After an ordinary performance by the Bangladeshi bowlers in the first test against South Africa, skipper Mushfiqur Rahim had a never ending session in the press conference in which he had to say a lot about the performance of the bowlers.

After a humiliating defeat at Potchefstroom, Mushfiqur blamed the bowlers more than the batsmen. He wasn’t impressed at all specially seeing the performance and the attitude of the bowlers in the first innings.

The players were deeply hurt after hearing the comments and it clearly reflected in their faces. Rubel Hossain who didn’t feature in the first test was seen alone in the lobby. Mustafizur and Taskin were seen silent & doomed during going to breakfast today morning and so as Shafiul and Mehidy.

The players were not in a state to say anything to the reporters after hearing the comments by the captain. But senior cricketer Mahmudullah opened his mouth and said to a reporter that Mushfiqur wanted to make them understand one thing, but he mistakenly said another things which might have hurt the bowlers.

Before heading to Bloemfontein, Mahmudullah said: “If you talk about bowlers like Rabada and Morkel, they have played a lot of matches. They are well ahead when it comes to experience. But yes, our spin bowling should have been better. Actually, there are many small things. Batting, bowling, fielding – we have to work hard in all three departments.”

The 2nd test will begin on 6th October on a pitch which might be a typical South African track. The bowlers should be ready to fulfill the expectations of their captain this time. 1 of 1
