Bowlers let us down in the first innings: Mushfiqur Visiting Bangladesh suffered a gigantic 333 run defeat in the hands of South Africa in the first Test of the two match Test series in Potchefstroom on Monday.

Chasing a total of 424 runs to win, the Tigers were bundled out at a below par score of 90 runs in their second innings. Imrul Kayes was the highest scorer with 32.

After the end of the show, Bangladesh Test skipper Mushfiqur Rahim blamed the bowling effort of the team for the drastic defeat at the end.

He said, “Our bowlers let us down in the first innings. It was a flat track but we could have put the balls in the right areas.”

Lamenting the batting of the team, the skipper said it was hard to remember when the team was packed under 100 runs in an innings.

“I cannot remember when the last time we were bowled out under 100 was. Probably we will play good cricket in the next match. It could have been an opportunity but hopefully we will go well in the next matches. As professionals we need to be mentally tough,” he said. 1 of 1
