Rohit Sharma powered India to win the fifth and final one day international match of the series against Australia in Nagpur and with that to take the world number one spot in the International Cricket Council ranking.
The home team claimed the series 4-1 through the seven wicket win in the last match.
Batting first, Australia was tottering in the score of 118 for 4; Marcus Stoinis and Travis Head took them to 205/4.
But Jasprit Bumrah showed his class in the occasion and Australia ultimately was restricted at 242 for 9.
During his innings of 125 runs with 12 fours and 5 sixes, Rohit Sharma also completed his 6000 run mark in ODIs and became the eight Indian batsman to achieve the landmark.
India has been running in super form in both ODIs and Test match since the elimination from the World Cup final by arch rival Pakistan. 1 of 1
