Malinga to play BPL for the first time Sri Lankan pace maestro Lasith Malinga is going to appear in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) for the first time. Lasith Malinga was supposed to appear in the inaugural Global T20 League which has been postponed by the organizers on financial crisis.

Malinga is the second highest wicket taker in the franchise based T20 leagues around the globe. He, so far, played in all the T20 leagues except BPL.

The veteran campaigner successfully performed for the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League, Guyana Amazon Warriors and Jamaica Tallawahs in the Caribbean Premier League, Melbourne Stars in Big Bash League and in English county, he played for Kent.

The fifth season of the Bangladesh Premier League will be launched from 4th of November this year.
