Mushfiqur to lose captaincy?

Proteas injuries will give us edge: MushfiqurWhatever would happen in rest of the three days of the Bloemfontein Test, Bangladesh might see the end of an era; the age of Mushfiqur Rahim’s captaincy is under the knife and if the reports will come into the true lights, BCB would cut the term of the present Bangladesh skipper’s captaincy in Test cricket right after the end of the two match Test series against South Africa.

A director of Bangladesh Cricket Board informed one of the leading dailies saying, “We have started thinking about alternative of Mushfiqur Rahim. Some of his comments as a Test captain is not acceptable and he is making wrong decisions as well.”

As Mashrafe Bin Mortaza is out of Test cricket for long, board authorities are looking for an option from three senior cricketers, Shakib Al Hasan, Mahmudullah Riyad and Tamim Iqbal.

Shakib could be more eligible than anyone in terms of his performance and experience but BCB is in a fluctuating condition upon Shakib Al Hasan’s determination to continue Test career. The world number one all-rounder has already been out of the longer version cricket in the South Africa tour pleading for a short rest.

Bangladesh have one and half month of interval before the next Test series to be held which will be against Sri Lanka at home.

BCB director said, “We have enough time prior to next series. The discussion about changing the captaincy has to be done in the board. We will talk with all of the them.”

A day earlier, BCB President Nazmul Hasan Papon heavily criticized Mushfiqur Rahim’s decision to bowl first in two consecutive matches. 1 of 1
