Ahead of the second Test, both sides are affected with injury issues. With the absence of Dale Steyn, Vernon Philander and Chris Morris, the Proteas will be missing Morne Morkel too after he sustained a left side strain in Potchefstroom Test which ruled him out for 4-6 weeks.

On the other hand, Bangladesh will be without opener Tamim Iqbal, who has been ruled out with thigh injury.

Absence of Tamim means the door opens for Soumya Sarkar for the second Test. He will be opening the batting with Imrul Kayes in Bloemfontein. Soumya missed out the first Test with injury. Subashis Roy may come in place of Taskin Ahmed.

South Africa are likely to make one change in their playing XI. Either Wayne Parnell or Dane Paterson will be replacing Morkel. If Paterson plays, he will make his Test debut. Kagiso Rabada is the most experienced bowler in the squad with 22 Tests.

Bangladesh were humiliated by South Africa in the first Test. The Proteas bowled them out for just 90 runs in the fourth innings when the tourists set 424 to win.

Playing XIs:

South Africa (likely): Dean Elgar, Aiden Markram, Hashim Amla, Temba Bavuma, Faf du Plessis (capt), Quinton de Kock (wk), Andile Phehlukwayo, Wayne Parnell/Dane Paterson, Keshav Maharaj, Kagiso Rabada, Duanne Olivier

Bangladesh (likely): Imrul Kayes, Soumya Sarkar, Mominul Haque, Mahmudullah Riyad, Mushfiqur Rahim (captain), Sabbir Rahman, Liton Das (wk), Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Shafiul Islam, Mustafizur Rahman, Subashis Roy
