The visiting team ended the day scoring 49 for the loss of 3 wickets which could be less if Mominul Haque was not the victim of an arduous misfortune losing his precious wicket before adding a single run on the board.
The incident took place in very early of the innings. Bangladesh, while stepped into the field to bat in their second innings, lost opener Tamim Iqbal in the fourth delivery of the first over.
Morne Morkel, opened the bowling for the home team, claimed the vital wicket of Tamim and in just the span of another two deliveries, he has had Mominul Haque in his wicket tally as well.
The new ball bounced and moved in front of Mominul; as Morkel was bowling from round the wicket, Mominul just jammed the ball in front of his knees in defense; Morkel shouted and the umpire Chris Gaffaney raised his fingers immediately.
Replays showed that this was to miss the stumps. Things went beyond realization for Bangladeshi spectators as they did not watch Mominul bothering to take a review although there were plenty of them for Bangladesh in the beginning of the innings.
Bangladesh one more wicket that of Imrul Kayes before ending the day’s play.
