Leg spinners performing consistently is a rare sight in cricket. Former Australian spinner Shane Warne proved it in his time and spinners like Imran Tahir and Yasir Shah are now maintaining the legacy.
But Pakistani spinner Yasir Shah has achieved a milestone which even Shane Warne couldn’t do.
Yasir, after taking a five wicket haul in the 2nd day of the 2nd test against Pakistan has become the first spinner ever to take five haul wicket in five consecutive Tests.
In the day-night Test match, Sri Lanka elected to bat first and put 482 runs on the board courtesy of Karunaratne’s brilliant knock of 196 runs. Chandimal, Dickwella & Perera all chipped in and scored fifties.
Pakistan bowlers had a tough time in the field and so as Yasir Shah, but in the end he left the field with another fifer. He picked up 6 wickets in total and conceded 184 runs in his 55.5 overs and achieved the milestone of taking fifers in five consecutive Tests.
Yasir Shah’s last 5 Tests:

- vs Sri Lanka – 5/51
- vs West Indies – 5/92
