McCullum excited to play under Mashrafe

Before the start of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), the Bangladeshi cricketers were used to be seen playing in different leagues of the world and under different captains. 

But Bangladesh Premier League have given a sight which many fans were waiting to see for a long time. Big International players from different countries of the world are playing under Shakib Al Hasan, Mashrafe Bin Mortaza and many more.

Dynamic openers Brendon McCullum and Chris Gayle will play under Mashrafe in this edition of BPL and the former New Zealand cricketer has expressed his excitement to play under Mashrafe.

McCullum said: “We played together in Kolkata Knight Riders. I have a good relation with him. I felt very good seeing him after I arrived in the stadium. Despite of being in the mid 30, he looks absolutely fit. He achieved many things in his career. Not only here, Mashrafe is respected all over the world. I am very excited to play under his captaincy.”

Gayle and McCullum who also played together for Kolkata will feature together again in Rangpur after a long time. 

“Gayle is one of the most destructive batsman in T20 cricket. Opening with him will be an exciting thing. I will give strike to him and then I will sit back and see his tremendous sixes.”

When asked about the Rangpur Riders, McCullum said: “We won only 1 out of 3 matches. But it is a very long tournament. We have to make sure that we stay consistent. Our team is great. The skipper is also a cool captain. I am sure when we will get adapted to each other, we can perform well. Apart from us, there are also good teams in this tournament. We have to make sure that we perform well.” 1 of 1
