Nafees wants to play more compact cricket

Rangpur Riders are having a good tournament in the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). They have played 9 matches for and won 5 matches. Though they still didn’t cement their place in the top four, they are in with a great chance to do so as there are still three matches for them to play. But their middle order batsman Shahriar Nafees is still not satisfied with the team’s performance and want to qualify for the top four as soon as they can.

Nafees told online newsportal Banglanews: “I am not disappointed with my performance and I have no objection for my batting order. Top four was our main target. After qualifying in top four, we will think about semi final or final and I think we are winning with the way we are playing.”

The left hand batsman also praised his team-mates: “Our players are playing well according to the needs. Mashrafe bhai is leading the side from front. Gayle, McCullum, Bopara and Mithun are playing well. But I believe we still didn’t play 60% of our ability.”

He added: “If we can show 80-90 of our ability, then we can be one of the favorites to win the tournament. If we can play more compact cricket together, then it will be difficult to beat us.” 1 of 1
