Nahidul hoped of taking Rangpur over the line

Rangpur Riders, a team full of superstars doesn’t require to depend on the local players but when destructive batsmen like Chris Gayle, Brendon McCullum and Thisara Perera all failed miserably, it was the local player Nahidul Islam who brought some hopes back for the Rangpur Riders.

In reply to Khulna Titans’ 158, Rangpur were in all sorts of trouble after losing Gayle and McCullum early. They were looking well out of the game after losing 4 wickets for just 40 odd runs.

Then Nahidul brought Rangpur back in the game with his 58 runs off 43 balls but it still wasn’t enough to steal victory from the Titans as he was missed when Rangpur needed only 14 runs.  In the end, the team lost by 9 runs.

In the press conference after the match, Nahidul said he had belief that will take the team over the line: “Actually, I didn’t lose hope. I thought we could finish. Actually they bowled very well in the end. We tried, but it didn’t happen in the end.”

He added: “There was no extra pressure. As a player, its always good to be confident. As I didn’t get many chances in the last BPL, I am trying to improve myself day by day.” 1 of 1
