Rangpur Riders started their BPL campaign with a big win over Rajshahi Kings by 6 wickets.
Though Rangpur were struggling after losing early wickets but the partnership between two local players Shahriar Nafees and Mohammad Mithun made it easy for Rangpur to chase down the target in the end.
Skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza also gave credit to that crucial partnership. He said: “After losing two early wickets, it was important to spend some time at the crease. In T20, it is very easy to score 80-90 runs in last 10 overs if you have wickets in hand. That partnership brought us back in the game and then Ravi Bopara played a special innings.”
He added: “I had to change things up to hold up momentum in the game. Sohag Gazi bowled well but still I didn’t give him to bowl again.”
Mashrafe also thinks its better to bat second in this kind of track: “In the beginning, runs will come a bit slowly. The team who will bat 2nd will get more advantage.” 1 of 1
