Perera becomes ODI and T20I captain for India series

In the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), Sri Lankan all-rounder Thisara Perera has been one of the top performer in the tournament so far but he can’t stay till the end of the tournament as he already flew back to Sri Lanka to join the training camp for India series.

Perera, who played for Rangpur Riders in this edition was a vital player for the team and also produced match winning performances both with the bat and the ball.

Just after landing in Sri Lanka, he has been given a great news. Perera is named as the new ODI and T20I captain for Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka are having a pretty bad time in International cricket at the moment and due to Upul Tharanga’s injury, the Sri Lankan board wanted a senior player to take on the duty.

Perera’s Rangpur Riders on the other side have played 9 matches and won 10, They still have three matches left in the league stage and the new Sri Lankan captain will surely be missed as his contribution in the team was huge in most of the matches, 1 of 1
