SLC authority longs for Hathurusingha

Meanwhile, his birth land Sri Lanka’s cricket authority seems quite determined to have Hathurusingha back in the country to take the charge of Sri Lankan national team.

Sports Minister of Sri Lanka Dayasiri Jayasekara said he is confident about the consent of Hathurusingha to guide Sri Lanka and therefore is ready to take all necessary steps required to appoint him.

Jayasekara said, “We are welcoming him with love and respect. We are ready to go ahead in this proposal with whatever we have.”

The sports minister also said, “Hathurusingha has said he is not expecting any big pecuniary benefit for working with Sri Lanka rather he wants to serve his own country. We really respect his decision to leave a great sum of money to come here.”

While working in Bangladesh, Chandika Hathurusingha has been the fourth richest cricket coach in the world.

Hathurusingha is under contract with BCB up to the 2019 World Cup but he had made no contact with Bangladesh after the tour of South Africa subsequently submitting resignation letter. 1 of 1
