South Africa club batsman scores 490 in 50 overs game

A club cricketer from South Africa Shane Dadswell has broken the record of highest individual score in a minor limited overs match after scoring mammoth 490 runs off just 151 balls.

The 20 year old batsman plays for NWU Pukke Cricket Club. He has broken the previous record held by the Indian batsman Sankruth Sriram in 2014-15.

Dadswell made history on 18th November which is also date of his birthday. The young batsman described it as the best day of his life. His knock of 490 runs included 57 sixes and 27 fours.

When people hardly dreams to score even a double hundred in the limited overs game, Dadswell rightly so was shocked after scoring 490: “Honestly its something you don’t even dream about. You dream about a double hundred, so to get 400 odd is a really special moment on a special day.

Dadswell also scored 126 off just 38 balls last week: “Its been an amazing two weeks. There’s certainly an attacking nature inside me.”

This attacking nature can take Dadswell to a great height and the day might not be far away when the young batsman will start playing innings like these for South Africa National Team. 1 of 1
