Courtesy of Luis Reece’s tremendous innings of 80 runs, Chittaging Vikings have won by a huge margin of 45 runs against Rajshahi Kings.
The match was nothing but just a formality as both the teams are knocked out from the tournament. Despite Chittagong’s victory today, they still remains at the bottom of the table.
After winning the toss, Rajshahi Kings’ skipper Mushfiqur Rahim elected to field first. Chittagong changed their opening combination in this match. Luke Ronchi opened the innings with Luis Reece and Soumya Sarkar was dropped to one down.
Reece used the opportunity quite well as he smacked a blistering knock of unbeaten 80 off just 56 balls with 4 fours and 3 sixes. Sikandar Raza’s late came in the end boosted Chittagong to 194 runs.
In reply, Rajshahi Kings couldn’t start and none of their batsman could deliver except Samit Patel. The all-rounder played a monsterous knock of 62 off just 26 balls including 6 fours and 6 huge sixes but that wasn’t enough to climb down the huge target of 194.
Rajshahi managed to score only 149 runs in their 20 overs. Sikandar Raza also played his part with the ball as he took 4 wickets and conceded just 16 runs to ensure a comfortably victory for the Vikings.
