Bangladesh register their biggest ODI win

Bangladesh have beaten Sri Lanka by the biggest margin in their ODI history. They won the third Rocket tri-series match by 163 runs at Shere Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Mirpur.

Bangladesh’s previous biggest ODI win was 160 runs against West Indies in Khulna in 2012. The Tigers’ had defeated Sri Lanka by 90 runs last year, which was the then largest victory for Bangladesh against Sri Lanka.

163 is the second-biggest ODI victory in terms of runs at SBNCS after South Africa’s 206 against Bangladesh in 2011 World Cup.

Bangladesh posted 320/7 in 50 overs against Sri Lanka after winning the toss. It was the 12th time they made a 300+ score and second against Sri Lanka. They had made 324/5 in Dambulla last year. It’s the joint fifth-highest total for Tigers in ODIs.

Sri Lanka were bowled out for 157 runs in 32.2 overs in reply. It’s their second-lowest total against Bangladesh after 147 in 2009.
