Therefore, Minhajul Abedin Nannu, the chief of the selection committee said after the announcement of the squad on Sunday, “The head coach was a part of the selection committee just before this series to come; team director Khaled Mahmud Sujon is also in the selection panel as well.”

“We prioritized opinions of the captain and the vice-captain during team selection. It sounds like a team work. We announced the team through working within the team,” chief selector said.

Explaining the possible omission of Nazmul Islam Apu, Minhajul Abedin said, “For some time, Sanjamul has been within our system. He was in the high performance unit and improved a lot in the meantime.”

“On the other hand Nazmul Islam Apu has lots of time in hand; he hasn’t been within our system till now. We thought of considering him because of his good performance in BPL and domestic cricket,” he added. 1 of 1
