After that BCB head Nazmul Hasan Papon revealed one of the reasons of Hathurusingha’s resignation is that of the decision of Shakib Al Hasan to take a ‘break’ from Test cricket prior to the South Africa series.

But Chandika Hathurusingha, after being appointed as the head coach of Sri Lanka national team, deliberately rejected the point regarding Shakib Al Hasan and said it wasn’t related anyway to his resignation decision.

BCB President, therefore, appeared saying in line of the former coach as he told there was no wrong in Hathurusingha’s briefing in this regard.

Thus he said, “It’s not right if he is asked whether he resigned for Shakib Al Hasan or not. He didn’t say anything like that. You repeatedly asked me what the complaints of Hathurusingha was. I said he didn’t submit any report. I said he doesn’t want to say anything about anyone.”

“Yes, senior cricketers have enormous contributions for the team. But there were subjects that Hathurusingha didn’t akin of like the way Mushfiqur talked in front of press or Shakib’s sudden departure from Test cricket. But it has never been said these are the reasons behind his resignation. Hathurusingha is right,” he reckoned. 1 of 1
