I am not concerned about demerit points: Sabbir

Bangladesh batsman Sabbir Rahman has got himself added three demerit points during Afghanistan and England series in 2016. After involving in an incident in domestic cricket, it earned him a 6-month in domestic cricket and also 20 lakh tk fine.

After ignoring the media for few days, Sabbir was finally seen on Saturday in the press conference. The aggressive batsman said he wants to concentrate only in his game and has no concern about the demerit points.

“Actually nothing negative is running in my mind. I am not concerned about the demerit points. It doesn’t matter if its 1 point or 10 points. I am trying to perform well in this series.”

Before the incident with a fan in domestic cricket, Sabbir was involved in a controversy before that too. He abused the Umpires during the fourth edition of BPL and got himself fined again.

But Sabbir now wants to forget everything and move forward: “As a human, this incident has surely effected me. But if I think as a professional cricketer, then past is past.”

He added: “Let bygones be bygones. I don’t want that incident to effect my performance. I am trying to give my level best in the national team, because I represent Bangladesh’s flag.” 1 of 1
