Kayes’ place in the final is still uncertain

Left hand opener Imrul Kayes has been experiencing a lot of things in the ongoing tri-nation series. Because of his injury, he was in doubt for the first and the second match and actually missed the matches.

Then when Kayes got recovered from his injury, he was dropped from the squad for the remaining matches of the tri-nation series. But due to Anamul’s poor show throughout the series, Kayes has been again called up and that too in the final match of the series.

But there is still a twist in the tale. Though Kayes has been included, it is still not confirmed that he will get a place in the starting XI. When asked to the skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza in the press conference, he said: “Imrul is included but that doesn’t mean he will surely play. We still haven’t discussed about it yet. We are still thinking who might do well with Tamim.”

Mashrafe added: “Bijoy played four matches. That’s try he still couldn’t play according to his potential and because of this, he is disappointed too. He wanted to contribute more. But that doesn’t mean we are not including him in our plans.”

Mashrafe also said he depends on Shakib and Tamim more: “Its true that when Tamim gets out early, we feel some pressure. Tamim has been given a responsibility of controlling the match. Shakib is also our best performer. Now if you look at Mushfiq, its not like he is in bad situation. Yesterday also, he batted for quite a long time. He would be more comfortable if we could get support from the other end.” 1 of 1
