Wicket-keeper batsman Mohammad Mithun who played for Masrafe’s team Rangpur Riders in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) is one of the player who is set to make a comeback in the national team after the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) included him in the 16-men squad for the upcoming tri-nation series. Mithun was the 5th highest run-scorer in the 5th edition of BPL. His performance was good throughout the tournament, but the batsman thinks Mashrafe should also get the credit for his inclusion in the squad.

After Monday’s practice session, Mithun told reporters: “I think BPL has helped me fully. Because I contributed there. Our team became champion too. I am lucky because my captain in Rangpur Riders is also the captain of the national team. He believed in me. He kept believing in me and that’s why I am here. If he wouldn’t have faith in me, then I wouldn’t be here.”

He added: “Nothing can be better than this if I can win a match for my country. I don’t know in which situations I will get chance or if I can contribute, but if I get opportunity then I will surely try to take my team over the line. If I play, then I will try my best to contribute as much as I can.”

Mithun has played 2 ODIs and 12 T20Is for Bangladesh so far. He has last played for Bangladesh in 2016. The 27-year old batsman will be looking to prove his worth once again. 1 of 1
