Shakib to bat at number three in Tri-nation series

Shakib-Mashrafe face off Saturday

During the preparation match between two sections of the national team, Red and Green, Shakib batted at number three, and, according to sources confirmation, the ace all-rounders is going to bat in that position in the forthcoming Tri-nation series.

One of the members of Bangladesh team management said the decision could be reconsidered if Shakib would not be successful in that position in the coming series.

Shakib Al Hasan carries an average of 33.37 in T20I cricket batting in one down position when his career average is 23.07 as a whole.

According to Bdnews24.com, Bangladesh team management has fixed the batting order in the upcoming Tri-nation series.

Anamul Haque Bijoy have high probability to return in the team to open with Tamim Iqbal Khan. keeping Shakib Al Hasan in the one down position, Mushfiqur Rahim will bat at number four, Mahmudullah Riyad in five while Sabbir Rahman and Nasir Hossain will come down at number six and seven respectively.

The Tri-nation series consists of Bangladesh, Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka is all set to begin from 15th of January, 2018 through the match between the hosts and Zimbabwe at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka. 1 of 1
