“In our Test team, majority of cricketers have a firm place. We want to make a fresh new start taking new faces in the shortest format; this is a good reason to check out new guns,” he said.

Opener Soumya Sarkar, after being deprived in the Test squad, has been called for the forthcoming series. Explaining the circumstances, chief selector said, “We have kept Soumya Sarkar in the list because he played well than most of the batsmen in the T20I series against South Africa.”

The first match of the T20I series against Sri Lanka will take place at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka on 15th of February. The series decider is scheduled to happen in Sylhet Stadium two days later. 1 of 1
