After performing consistently in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Asif Ali and Shaheen Afridi have been selected in Pakistan’s 15-man squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series against the Windies. Hussain Talat has also received a call-up.
Asif, who plays for Islamabad United in the Pakistan Super League, was in fine form during the course of the just-concluded tournament, compiling 213 runs at an average of over 30. His three six successive sixes off Hasan Ali in the final guided Islamabad to their 2nd PSL title.
Meanwhile, Haris Sohail and Umar Amin have been dropped from the squad. Haris aggregated just 29 runs in the T20I series against New Zealand this year and Amin on his part could accumulate only 21 runs at an average of 10.5.
Mohammad Hafeez, who has not appeared in the shortest format of the game for Pakistan since taking part in the T20I series versus Sri Lanka last year, has also been ignored. Pakistan will also be without the services of Imad Wasim, the all-rounder, and Ruman Rees due to injuries.
