Though Mahmudullah Riyad wasn’t in the starting XI of Quetta, Tamim Iqbal and Sabbir Rahman both played together for Peshwar for the first time. Both the players had a successful outing but one had with the bat and the other had while fielding.
Quetta could managed to score only 141 runs losing 8 wickets in their 20 overs and Sabbir can take some credit as he took 3 catches to remove Asad Shafiq, Rilee Rossouw and Mohammad Nawaz.
In reply to Quetta’s 141, Peshawar lost Kamran Akmal early but then Tamim played steady with Mohammad Hafeez and built a sold partnership before Hafeez departed for 29 runs. Then both the Bangladeshi were at the crease together but none of them could take Zalmi over the line.
After the departure of both Tamim and Sabbir, the context of the game changed and the skipper who was injured had to come and with one leg it was enough for finisher Sammy to hit two massive sixes and a four to guide Zalmi over the line with two balls in hand.
