Shakib Al Hasan has starred Sunrisers Hyderabad to a thumping win over Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens in match 10 of Vivo Indian Premier League 2018. This was the first time SRH beat KKR at their backyard.
Shakib was not the Man of the Match but played a massive role in Saturday’s game. He took two wickets with the ball after the visitors chose to bowl. He also grabbed to catches including one off his own bowling.
The Bangladeshi all-rounder was also in good touch with the bat. He made 27 runs off 21 balls including 2 fours and a six. It is his highest score in IPL since 2016.
Shakib’s smart economy rate was 4.33 as opposed to a regular economy rate of 5.25. His smart batting strike rate was 143.4 as opposed to a regular strike rate of 128.57. (source ESPNcricinfo).
Shakib became the seventh and first Sunrisers player to score 25+ runs, two wickets and two catches in a single IPL match. Sourav Ganguly, Suresh Raina, Ravindra Jadeja, JP Duminy, Andre Russell and Ben Stokes were the men who achieved this feat previously.
Shakib also crossed 4000 runs in T20 format, the second Bangladeshi after Tamim Iqbal. He needs one more wicket to pick up 300 wickets.
