Ambati Rayudu slams maiden Indian Premier League (IPL) century as his side Chennai Super Kings beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by 8 wickets with an over to spare at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune.
Having been asked to bat first, Sunrisers Hyderabad posted a mountain total of 180 after 20 overs, depending on Dhawan and Williamson’s half-centuries. The left handed batting duo added 123 runs together in the 1st wicket partnership before Shikhar Dhawan fell for 79 off 49 balls. Dhawan’s innings was full of entertainment for the spectators as the opener smashed ten fours and three sixes. Kane Williamson also followed Dhawan’s way to the pavilion in the very next ball scoring 51 off 39 balls with the help of five fours and two sixes.
In reply, Chennai Super Kings chased down the target very comfortably after Shane Watson and Ambati Rayudu added 131 runs in the opening stand. Although Watson departed for 57 in the 14th over of the match, Rayudu finished the match for CSK with an unbeaten 100 off 62 balls. He smashed seven sixes and fours during his blistering knock.
