Kings XI Punjab opener KL Rahul brilliant 84-run innings guides his side commanding victory over Rajasthan Royals in the 38th match of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL), on Sunday.
Having been asked to bat first at Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore, Rajasthan Royals had a poor start as opener D Arcy Short departed in the very first over of the innings. One-down batsman Ajinkya Rahane also could not last long either with Axar Patel removing him for 5 off 7 balls.
However, Jos Buttler kept Rajasthan in the match with a half-century which helped Rajasthan to post 152 in the scoreboard losing 9 wickets after 20 overs.
In reply, Kings XI Punjab chased down the target within 19 overs very easily, depending on skipper KL Rahul’s blistering 84 off just 54 balls. His heroic knock was measured and composed featuring seven fours and three sixes with a strike rate of over 155.
To be noted, With this victory KXIP go up to third position on the points table after nine games played and pushed Rajasthan Royals into an unenviable corner from where they’d have confirm victory in each of their remaining matches hereafter to stand a chance to qualify to the next round.
