Australia were down to number six after back-to-back defeats in the first two ODIs in London (The Oval) and Cardiff. They lost the last three ODIs as well with the last one being a cliff-hanger at Old Trafford.

The 5-0 whitewash deducted four points from Australia. They are now just seven points ahead of Bangladesh, who are seventh with 93 points. Pakistan have moved to No.5 with 102 points. England are now on 126 points, four more than No.2 India’s 122.

England’s top position are pretty much in safe hands. Even if they lose 1-2 to India in the three-match series they will still hold their position. But a 3-0 for India will help them regain the No.1 position.

Australia can only get back to top five if Pakistan win 3-2 against Zimbabwe in the five-match series. Whereas a 4-1 series win will still keep Pakistan at number five.

Bangladesh’s next assignment is against Windies. If they are to move No.6, they must win 3-0 against Windies and hope Zimbabwe win 4-1 over Pakistan. But a single loss to No.9 ranked Windies will cut down Bangladesh’s points.
