In the second T20 International match against Ireland, the Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya played a cameo knock of 32 off just 9 deliveries which helped India to post a mammoth total of 213.
Earlier in the match, Ireland opted to bowl after winning the toss. The Indian skipper Virat Kohli opened the innings along with KL Rahul and the skipper went back to pavilion after scoring just 9 runs.
However, the 2nd wicket partnership between KL Rahul and Suresh Raina added some valuable runs for India. The Kings XI Punjab opener KL Rahul scored 70 runs off 39 deliveries and Suresh Raina smashed 69 runs off 46 deliveries.
In the end, the Indian all-rounder launched an attack on Irish bowlers as he smashed 4 sixes and a boundary in his inning that helped India to post a huge total of 213 on the board.
For the second game in a row, the Irish batsmen failed to put up a good fight. Any slim hope of chasing down the massive 214-run target were all but ended when Umesh Yadav dismissed Paul Stirling for a duck in the first over. At the end of the power play, they were reeling at 30 for 4.
Two runs later, Kevin O’Brien departed too and along with him departed the Irish hopes. The hosts kept on losing wickets at regular intervals and were eventually all out for 70.
The spinners’ Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav have picked up 3 wickets each and destroyed the opposition batting line-up. The skipper Gary Wilson’s 15 is the highest score for Ireland team.
The Ireland team bundled out for just 70 runs and lost the game by 143 runs. This is the biggest ever T20 International win for the Indian team in terms of margin.
