Despite Bangladesh’s disappointing performance against Windies in the opening match of the series in Antigua, wicket-keeper batsman Nurul Hasan Sohan and pacer Abu Jayed Chowdhury Rahi were impressive in their respective departments. Meanwhile, Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan praised the likes of Nurul Hasan Sohan and Abu Jayed Rahi for their display. “Nurul batted really well today and credit to him,” he was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz.
He added on the same, “Jayed was impressive in his debut. He showed his character and can be a great prospect for Bangladesh.”
The experienced campaigner, Shakib also admitted that his side was beaten in all three departments of the game. “We were beaten in all three departments,” Shakib said after the defeat.
Ahead of the second match of the series which is scheduled to start on July 12 in Jamaica, Tigers undoubtedly have a lot of areas where they have to work on. Shakib concluded, “There are a lot of areas we need to work on in the next five days. It is very tough adapting to these conditions as it is not easy and we’re not used to this.
