Twitter explodes as Aaron Finch breaks record of highest T20I individual score

The Australian cricket team is playing their second match of the T20I tri-series tournament. They came into the tournament after losing the ODI and T20I series against England. Australia needed some individual performance to change their fortune and it came from the Australian skipper, Aaron Finch.

I'm just happy to be employed, says Finch

Finch, who smashed 84 runs against England, scored unbeaten 68 runs in the first match of the tri-series tournament against Pakistan. He carried his same form in their next match against Zimbabwe as well.

After winning the toss, Zimbabwe elected to bowl first. The Aussie skipper scored a century in just 50 balls and then decided to swing at each and every ball. In 2013, he scored 156 against England and today, he broke his own record to score 172 against Zimbabwe. His innings included 16 fours and 10 sixes.

He had a chance to beat Chris Gayle’s 175 runs in T20s created back in 2013. Unfortunately, he was hit-wicket in the final over. D’Arcy Short and Aaron Finch registered a highest-ever parntership of 223 runs in T20 Internationals. Australia managed to post a total of 229 runs in 20 overs.
