The debutant Siddarth Kaul took a stunning catch to dismiss England all-rounder Ben Stokes during the first match of the three-match ODI series at Trent Bridge. Earlier in the match, batting first, England openers provided a brisky start to their team.
However, the game turned on its head when Kuldeep came on to bowl. With England racing away to 71 for no loss after ten overs, Kohli introduced Kuldeep in the attack and the move paid off.
The left-arm wrist-spinner destroyed the dreams of the run feast at Trent Bridge. Kuldeep Yadav dismissed Jason Roy, Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow in his first two overs.
Eoin Morgan and Ben Stokes then took the score past the 100-run mark. However, the duo could not bail their team out of trouble as Yuzvendra Chahal dismissed Morgan to reduce England to 105 for four.
However, Stokes and Buttler added some important for the fifth wicket before Kuldeep sent Buttler back to pavilion for 53 runs.
Ben Stokes, who scored 50 off 103 deliveries, also dismissed by Kuldeep Yadav. The English all-rounder Moeen Ali scored some important runs for England as he scored 24 off 23 deliveries. The left-arm wrist-spinner, Kuldeep Yadav completed his six-fer by dismissing David Willey for just 1 run. The destructive batting line-up managed to score just 268 runs against strong Indian team.
The English all-rounder had timed his reverse-sweep perfectly. The ball looked primed to cross the boundary ropes. However, it was not Stokes’ day as Siddarth Kaul dived to his right to take a stunning catch.
