2nd match gets called off too


An unpleasing start to Bangladesh Premier League T20 2016 as both the matches on first day of fourth edition are called off due to rain in Dhaka. The match between Rangpur Riders and Khulna Titans ar Shere Bangla National Cricket Stadium is abandoned without a toss.

BPL 2016 started with an abandon (with a toss) of Comilla Victorians vs Rajshahi Kings opening game. There have been no play in the second match of Rangpur Riders and Khulna Titans as well. The toss of this game didn’t take place today (4 November).

Before the start of play, there had been hopes of having some game as the rain was stopped for a while. The covers were coming off. But the rain came down again in Mirpur which resulted disappointment among the players and fans.

The match was scheduled to start at 7:15 pm. After about two and a half hours, the officials decided to abandon the second match as well without a ball being bowled. Both Rangpur and Khulna have earned one point each.

If the rain stays away tomorrow (5 November), the action with bat and ball will begin. Barisal Bulls will face Chittagong Vikings at 2:00 pm while home side Dhaka Dynamites will take in defending champions Comilla Victorians at 7:00 in the evening.
