As the Hyderabad pitch promises to be a good an placid wicket, one can expect both teams to produce one heck of an entertainment for the fans worldwide.
At the same time, el-classico is sure to make fans nervous with both teams aiming to move for greener pastures in search of their 4th glory as the match is just hours away from power-packed action. Let’s take a glimpse at the 8 players (4 from Mumbai and 4 from CSK) who are destined to perform good in IPL 2019 final.
Quinton de Kock:
De Kock has been instrumental in providing some electrifying starts for the blues this season. He has scored 500 runs this season and has scored four fifties. He alongside Rohit Sharma stitched together some good foundation at the front. One can’t rule out the fact that he could chip in with another phenomenal performance at the top of the order.
Suryakumar Yadav has been the underrated player for Mumbai Indians this season. In fact, he scored an important fifty against Super Kings on an extremely difficult Chennai pitch in Qualifier 1. He loves to take on CSK spinners in the final.
There is no doubt that Hardik Pandya has evolved as a mature all-rounder now. He is possibly the best all-rounder this IPL. The big-hitter has amassed 386 runs and has taken 14 wickets to his name. He also displayed impressive fielding skills as he took 11 catches.
Bumrah’s no-balls could prove to be costly for Mumbai Indians otherwise he is one of the best fast bowlers in the world. He is capable of hitting the deck hard and extract some fair bit of bounce and Hyderabad wicket would suit him well.
In this season, he has picked 17 wickets to his name. His bowling skills especially at the death overs could be the gaming changing moment and Rohit knows how to use him.
Imran Tahir who is in the bowling rhythm of his life is not too far away from his trademark running celebrations. He is just two wickets away from surpassing fellow South African Kagiso Rabada to top the chart in IPL and has a lot of potential and experience to make it possible.
If there is one fast bowler who has made deepening footmarks combined with good bowling spells, then it has to be Deepak Chahar. When CSK lost Lungi Ngidi early in the season and with Dwayne Bravo missing out due to injuries in most matches, responsibility fell on Chahar’s shoulders and much to fans’ expectations, he did manage to perform very well.
He picked 19 wickets at an average of 24.00 and has been remarkable in the powerplay overs, restricting the opposition’s momentum. He is one of the bowlers to watch out for in the IPL final for CSK.
MS Dhoni is not someone who rest on his laurels as he is hungry for trophies. It is no doubt that CSK are glory hunters and huge credit goes to MS Dhoni for turning this team into potential title contenders. He steered the team to 8 IPL finals, which just goes to show how CSK can be a lethal side.
WNot to forget the fact that MS Dhoni’s contributions so far have been very good. He knows how to set up perfect field positions and also rotates the bowlers at the right time in the match after which there would be a major breakthrough for the team. Besides his batting skills, his street-smart wicketkeeping skills could come handy in the IPL final.
CSK opener Shane Watson is capable of producing brisk start to the game. His form might have faded but he slowly regained his form as he scored a fifty in the last match against Delhi Capitals in qualifier 2 and some couple of good knocks in his previous matches.
In last season’s IPL final between CSK and SRH, it was Shane Watson who anchored the run-chase by scoring a match-winning century. One can’t rule out that Shane Watson is a sure player to make an impact for his team against Mumbai in IPL 2019 final.
